 A landscape painter who was born in Bushey, Hertfordshire, Hugh Boycott-Brown studied at Watfoed School of Art, Heatherley's in London and also under Sir John Arnesby Brown. He exhibited widely and successfully and was an elected member of all the major art institutions. He was much influenced by the Impressionists and John Constable.
Ships and boats form the main subjects of most of his paintings and he was greatly interested in sky and water. He lived in East Anglia for at least 40 years.
