Born in 1905, Claude Buckle was an elected member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and the Royal Society of Marine Artists. He painted in oil and watercolour and was born in London and lived near Andover. He originally trained as an architect but turned to art in 1928.
This picture is signed with his distinctive signature and is typical of his interesting and imaginative style. It is not dated but seems most likely to be circa 1950. |
