Fanny Mearns  RBA

Fanny Mearns painted landscapes and figurative subjects, mainly in watercolours. She exhibited at the Royal Academy (5), at Suffolk Street and the British Institution, and flourished between 1870 and 1881.

This particular watercolour of Rye Harbour is fascinating as it clearly shows the harbour, houses and warehouses at low tide in the latter part of the 19th century.
