Frederick Albert Slocombe  RPE

Frederick Albert Slocombe (1847-1920) was a painter and etcher who lived in London and was elected Member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers (RPE) in 1881. He exhibited widely including at the Royal Academy (34), the RPE (91) and the Royal Society of British Artists (15).

The confidence, realism, pers-pective and expert use of shades and colours shows how beautiful a British landscape can be in Summer. In some parts of the country you can still see scenes very much like this but not many artists have been able to capture it.
