GRAHAM GALLERY Watercolours
George Edward Alexander

Alexander (b 1865) was a land-scape artist who was born in Chippenham and lived in London, Farnham and Churt, Surrey. He exhibited at the Royal Academy (11), Walker's Gallery, London (228), the Royal Hibernian Academy (15), the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours (9) and others.

This is a perfectly balanced compo-sition with cows and a figure by the pond, a sailing boat and trees and clouds in the distance. Mercifully, Frensham Ponds is still unspoilt and remains much as it was when this was painted circa 1900. It is signed in pencil in the bottom left corner.
